Abstract

The human population in the world we live in continues to increase day by day. This increasing population continues to migrate from rural areas to cities. Thus, the population of the city is increasing day by day. This increasing population in cities will start to become a problem every day and will bring many problems with it. Resources such as energy, in frastructure, transportation, buildings and health will be heavily burdened. There is a need to determine the issues needed by city planning, smart cities strategies, and to plan and organize all kinds of problems that are expected to be solved in an integrated way. For this reason, developments and innovative studies in information and communication technologies reveal the “smart cities” approach of technology to make city life more comfortable and to create sustainable cities. Sustainable development; The interrelationships between increasing population, decreasing resources, environment and development require proper planning. One of the most important tools to create or implement a sustainable life is the establishment of smart cities. Smart cities have to host many developing and developing technologies, and these technologies are a tool used to lead a comfortable life that people today and in the future will share equally. The reflection of the “big data”, which has occurred with the developing latest technologies, on the cities has been examined through the concept of smart city. Smart cities can be defined as city formations that have a developed Urban Information System (KIS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and are built on an organization where citizens can benefit from all services. Thus, the aim of this study will be to examine how these new developments in cities have brought about a change in municipal organizations, starting from the concept of smart city. It is concluded that it offers solutions to very important problems with the help of the latest technologies and big data used in response to the problems that occur in cities, and that some changes are necessary in the organization of the municipality in order to benefit from this potential, to cooperate with the factors that will occur and to contribute to this.
