Risk Assessment with Hazop Method in Construction Industry

Abstract

The construction industry has a special position worldwide in terms of occupational health and safety (OHS). The sector is one of the most risky sectors in terms of working conditions and ranks among the top sectors in terms of the rate of work accidents resulting in death. Therefore, occupational health and safety management is an important topic in the construction industry. Within the scope of the study, basic definitions in the occupational health and safety sector were mentioned. In addition, hazard and risk determination processes and generally main risk assessment methods are mentioned. Risk assessment method of, providing information about the HAZOP occupational accidents occurred in the construction sector of the studies carried out to determine the situation in Turkey has been mentioned.
